Visit the Training Field, where unskilled farmers nervously trained before battling the British for America’s future! From the Training Field, walk the Freedom Trail to the historic Bunker Hill National Monument where a monumental granite monolith marks the site of the Battle of Bunker Hill. Here, American Revolutionaries bravely stared down the fearsome British Army, and outmanned and outgunned, where General Warren Prescott decried “do not fire until you see the whites of their eyes, countrymen!” At last, take the stroll down Pleasant Street and have a drink at the Warren Tavern, where soldiers and generals drank alike, including America’s first president, George Washington!
